The journey of our cashmere garments begins on the Mongolian steppe, where nomadic families carefully comb the soft, luxurious fibers from their goats. This traditional practice not only sustains the livelihoods of these families but also preserves the delicate balance of the steppe ecosystem. The process of collecting cashmere fibers is certified as durable by the Sustainable Fiber Alliance, reflecting a commitment to ethical and sustainable practices that respect both the environment and the communities involved.

This certification ensures that the cashmere production process supports the long-term well-being of both the land and the people who depend on it, while also maintaining the exceptional quality of the fibers themselves.

Spinning

The soft fibers are then transported to Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia, where they undergo a transformation into luxurious cashmere yarns. This delicate process is managed with precision to preserve the natural softness and quality of the fibers. The dyeing stage is particularly crucial, and it is carried out with certified adherence to Oeko-Tex standards, ensuring that the dyes used are environmentally friendly and safe for both consumers and the environment.

This commitment to sustainability and quality is a hallmark of the production process, ensuring that the final cashmere yarns meet the highest standards of excellence.

KNITTING

Fully fashioned knitting is a technique where each piece of a garment is knitted to its final shape and size, eliminating waste by avoiding the need for cutting and sewing separate pieces together. This method is particularly popular in the production of high-quality knitwear, as it results in garments that fit well and have a seamless appearance.

This mindful process is handled by Selenge, involving precise attention to detail and skill in executing the knitting techniques required to achieve the desired shape and fit for each piece of the garment. This level of craftsmanship contributes to the overall quality and sustainability of the finished product, as well as minimizing waste in the production process.

LINKING

The various components of the garment are intricately linked together by hand, a meticulous task expertly executed by Tsatsa.

Hand linking involves carefully connecting each piece of the garment with precision and attention to detail, ensuring a seamless finish and optimal fit. Tsatsa's skill in this craft ensures that every garment meets the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship, resulting in a finished product that is both durable and aesthetically pleasing.

GIVING BACK

In alignment with our commitment to environmental sustainability, we've made the decision to contribute to reforestation efforts through our partnership with Green Future Project.

For every item sold, we will plant a tree with Green Future Project. This initiative not only helps offset the environmental footprint of our production process but also contributes to the restoration and preservation of vital ecosystems around the world.

By participating in this project, we aim to not only offer high-quality products but also to actively support initiatives that promote a greener and more sustainable future for generations to come.

IRONING

Before reaching completion, the garments undergo a critical step where they are steamed to enhance their textures and finalize their measurements.

This delicate task is performed by Saraa, with meticulous attention to detail. By carefully applying steam, Saraa brings out the natural characteristics of the fabric while ensuring that the garments maintain their intended shape and fit. This essential process prepares the garments for the subsequent steps in the production process, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.

FINISHING

In the final stages of production, the garments undergo thorough inspection to detect any knitting glitches or imperfections. Should any issues be identified, they are meticulously re-knitted using specialized tools to ensure that the garments meet the highest standards of quality.

Once all defects have been addressed, the brand and care labels are carefully sewn onto the garments, either by hand or with the assistance of a sewing machine. This attention to detail in the finishing process ensures that each garment not only meets LAYESION’s standards for excellence but also provides clear guidance to the wearer on proper care and maintenance of their garment.
